Food and Sight Seeing Trip to Vigan City, Ilocos Sur

Earlier this month, Kerker (my boyfriend) and I celebrated our 3rd year anniversary and my 30th birthday celebration in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur.

Going to Vigan City via commute wasn’t easy but its totally worth it. We booked an online  bus reservation through Biyaheroes. It was my first time going far north so I was really surprised that it took us 10+ hours to reach Vigan City via regular bus. 😖

Unfortunately I forgot to take some photos but we booked a hotel near Calle Crisologo called Hotel Felicidad. The look and feel of the hotel was really classic and historical. Plus, the location is reachable to other sight seeing locations in Vigan City. We stayed in the hotel for 3 days and 2 nights.

Our original plan was to eat tons of local food on our 3rd year anniversary and my birthday celebration. Aside from eating, Vigan City is also a nice place to sight see and check out classical and old-school places of northern Philippines.

When in Vigan City, its better to make arrangements with a local tricycle driver so that he can tour you around the city. It costs around 400 to 600 PhP and the payment is all in with unlimited time for the day. If you ask me, this is better compared to arranged itinerary or tours which sometimes limit your schedule to roam around the city. At the same time, you’re helping out locals earn for their livelihood. Nice, isn’t it?

Of course, this post wouldn’t end without a food photo. Local food in Vigan City is to die for. My boyfriend and I ate lots of empanada and Vigan longganisa because (like I told you earlier), we really went to Vigan for F-O-O-D. LOL! 😋 😜 The long travel is definitely worth it especially when you take a bite of their local delicacies.

Our 3-day trip to Vigan City was really fun! We’ll definitely go back and will eat lots of food next time. Until then! 😍
